About Us . . .
The Heritage Village Computer Club was formed in 1995
by a small group of forward-thinking Villagers.
|
|
|
|
From 1996 to the present, membership was over 200 enthusiastic seniors.
"THE WEB" is our computer laboratory.
It has eight personal computers which provide high-speed Internet access.
All computers can be online simultaneously.
Some have Windows XP operating system; others have Windows Vista.
A wide variety of programs (software) is available
and is listed in the glass cabinet outside THE WEB room entrance.

OUR ACTIVITIES

|
|
Open House
- Tuesday & Thursday from 1-3 p.m. in the Web room.
- All Villagers are welcome.
- A club member will answer your questions or start a computer for your independent work.
|
|
|
|
- Second Wednesday of each month, usually
10 a.m.
- All Villages are welcome.
- Speakers share their expertise.
- Question & Answer period allows the audience to discuss problems.

|
|

|

FOR MEMBERS
|
|
|
|
- Taught on several levels by
volunteer members. Lesson plans are developed by our Education Committee.
- See our Website Calendar, Soundboard newsletter, the HV Bulletin, or Channel 14 for current offerings.
- Sign the list at THE WEB door to indicate your interest in other courses or topics.

|
SIGs (Special Interest Groups)
- Are continuing discussion groups that focus on one topic. They meet according to the wishes of the group members.
- Current SIGs are Graphics and Webpage Design, and Digital Photo Enhancement.
- Possible topics for the future are Scanning, Computer Artistry, Voice Recognition, etc.

SOUNDBOARD
A monthly internet newsletter for members with active email addresses.
Information for beginners and experienced users.
Latest advances, user tips and Club news and courses.
BROADCAST
Internet email messages to inform members about late breaking Club news.
Social Events
Annual picnics, anniversary celebrations & holiday luncheons.
