I submit these sites as places to visit when it is too hot to go outside. Very often you can access the site without using the "www". Try it without and if it doesn't work just add it to the URL. Enjoy!

Caveat:
Every time you type in information in an Internet survey, it can be sold to other companies or interested parties, so be careful about what you share. For instance, don't give out your Social Security number or your credit-card number, unless you are making a purchase.

Get to know your MAC
Gaining an understanding of memory allocations and usage, storage types and speeds, software version numbers and so will often be all you need to figure out exactly what's going on when things backfire. And if you do need to call tech support, you will be able to talk to the technicians knowledgeably and give them the background they need. First, go to the Apple menu and choose the Apple System Profiler. Here you will find arcane, but important information like: ROM version, processor speed, system version, virtual memory status, PCI, USB and FireWire bus status and devices attached, lists of control panels and extensions, and much more. Second, in the Finder, choose "About This Computer" under the Apple menu. This will tell you how much memory is allocated to each program and how much memory is still available.
